FHP Health Center Receives CT scan Accreditation

Tamuning, GU— The FHP Health Center received an accreditation for its CT scan services by the American College of Radiology.  The FHP Radiology Department is the first medical center on Guam to receive the prestigious CT scan certification.  Gerry Patricio, FHP Radiology Department Manager, “This accreditation is an important milestone for FHP because it validates the qualifications of our FHP radiologists and professional staff and it certifies the quality of the CT equipment in addition to making us compliant with the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA).”

According to the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA), all providers of CT, MRI, breast MRI, nuclear medicine, and PET exams that bill under Medicare Part B are required to be accredited by Jan. 1, 2012.
