FHP Health Center now offers CT Scan options for patients

Tamuning, GU-Adding to itís convenient, “one-stop” medical center, the FHP Health Center will now offer the General Electric CT Scan Machine for its patients effective September 29, 2008.  Significantly, no other full-service medical clinic in Guam offers this type of service to its patients.

A CT Scan is a computerized tomography scan performed using a x-ray machine, which is linked to a computer.  The GE Lightspeed Multi-slice CT Scan is a valuable addition to our radiology department.  GE is one of the largest manufacturers of multi-slice CT scanners in the world,î said Gerry Patricio, BS, RDMS, FHP Health Center.

CT Scans allow for the visualization of internal organs and soft tissue structures of the body.  CT Scans show the extent of damage caused by a head injury, stroke, abdominal aneurysm, masses and tumors.  These scans provide physicians with critical information they need to begin treatment to the patient. This is just another reason for our existing and potential patients to have their healthcare provided at FHP,î said Brenda Sana, clinic administrator, FHP Health Center.   Originating as the Catholic Medical Center in 1973, the FHP Health Center in Guam  has been a healthcare staple in the community.  The FHP Health Center services include Urgent Care, Womenís Care, Pediatrics, Adult Medicine, Radiology, and a Surgi-Center.  The FHP Health Center also offers Pharmacy, Dental, Vision and Home Health services.
“FHP is celebrating our 35thyear of serving the community of Guamís medical needs and we will continue to deliver solutions to provide quality healthcare to the island of Guam,” said Sana.
The FHP Health Center is located at 548 South Marine Corps Drive, Tamuning, Guam 96913;for more information, visit www.takecareasia.com.
