American Cancer Society Relay for Life: Team TakeCare placed second out of 77 teams, raising over $35,000 for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life 2011. Year after year, the TakeCare employees continue to show the spirit of community and dedication to raise funds for the fight against cancer.
Big Brothers Big Sisters Build-A-Bike: TakeCare employees participated in the second annual Big Brothers Big Sisters Build-A-Bike Competition on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Micronesia Mall Center Court. The teams were tasked to perform a series of challenges in addition to building and decorating a bike that was donated to the organization's "Littles."
SPPC/76/Circle K 2010 and 2011 Paddle Race: TakeCare participated in the 2010 and 2011, SPPC/76/Circle K Paddles against Cancer Benefit Race. Employees from various departments in the company volunteered to paddle in a series of races at the Matapang Beach in Tumon, Guam. Proceeds from the event benefited the American Cancer Society.
TakeCare's Open Dialog: TakeCare values our employees and open communication throughout the organization. Because of this, the company holds an Open Dialog event every January to discuss the successes of the past year and future goals of the upcoming year. This event is a forum for employees to voice their ideas and concerns to management as well as foster a sense of camaraderie among one another.
2011 Guam Xterra: TakeCare employees Monessa Cruz, Bethany Van Boxtel and Christine Quinata participated in the 2011 Xterra Races beginning at Port Authority Beach in Piti, Guam on March 26, 2011. The race consisted of a 1k swim, 31m mountain bike course and 8.2k trail run. The TakeCare team also placed first in the women's relay division.
FHP Health Center relocates to the TSL Plaza to optimize patient care: Garapan, Saipan – The FHP Health Center will be relocating from its former location to the TSL Plaza on Beach Road in Garapan.
TakeCare Fun Run 2008: TakeCare Insurance Company held its inaugural Fitness 4 Life fun Run/Walk on April 5, 2008 in Tiyan, Guam. Proceeds from the run benefited the American Cancer Society and TakeCare Foundation.
TakeCare Fun Run 2010: TakeCare Foundation and GCC Foundation partnered to host the second annual Fitness 4 Life Fun Run/Walk 5k at the FHP Medical Center in Tamuning, Guam on July 24, 2010. Close to six hundred racers came out to support the fun run. The Pound Academy, TakeCare's Five Days of Fitness group, led the warm-up exercises for the race. Proceeds from the race benefited the GCC and TakeCare Foundations.
Continental Plane Pull 2008, 2009 and 2010: For the past three years, TakeCare has participated in the Continental Plane Pull Towing the Line to save lives. Team TakeCare rounded up twenty-five dedicated employees to take part in the event. Proceeds from the event benefited the American Cancer Society.
Guam Diabetes Association Sponsorship: TakeCare, led by its medical management team sponsored the Guam Diabetes Conference in October 2009. TakeCare is an annual supporter of the conference and understands the importance of diabetes detection and management for its members, patients and the community.
GCC Allied Health Center Donation: TakeCare donated $100,000 to the Guam Community College Allied Health Center in 2010. This donation support professional development, student scholarships and supplies and materials for real life teaching.
UOG School of Nursing Donations: TakeCare donated $150,000 to the University of Guam School of Nursing in 2009 and $100,000 in 2010 for a total of over $1.8 million dollars. The donation supports student scholarships, faculty development, classroom equipment and clinical supplies among, many other things.
TakeCare 2010 SummerJam Youth Basketball Tournament TakeCare has sponsored the last four Summer Jam Youth Basketball Tournaments in order to encourage our community's youth to live active and healthy lifestyles. Over 60 teams participated in the 2010 tournament.
TakeCare 2010 Employee Picnic: TakeCare's first employee picnic was held at Jeff Pirate's Cove in August 2010. Over 400 TakeCare employees and their families attended the picnic. The picnic provided the perfect place for employees to gather, enjoy great food, a relaxing beach-side atmosphere, fun and games and other activities.
